So, today is officially the last day of our project. We just turned in our final report so we just need to turn in our peer reviews now. Even though this project was very stressful, and very time consuming, I am glad that we were able to do it. I think I can speak for the rest of my group that we learned much needed skills that we will definetly use when we get older and enter into the workforce. We were able to learn how to work in a group, time management, and how to be more formal and professional when talking to those of authority. Even though I hated this project while we were doing it, now that it is over, I am so grateful for the opportunity to give back to this school and thank Pauahi for all the things she has done for us. This project was a good way to end the school year because since there is a lot of seniors in the malama honua classes, they can leave with the feeling of accomplishment that they did something meaningful before they leave to go off to college. Mr. Blake should definetly continue this project in his future years of teaching.

This weekend, we are just working on our final report that is due on Monday. Thankfully I wrote most of it last week so I just had to finish writing the reflection and conclusion, along with put our pictures and Bibliography. Our report ended up being 14 pages long including our pictures, so I really hope thats a good length, and not too long. Afte we turn in our report, we need to do our Final peer reviews that is due on Tuesday. After that, we are officially done! My group and I feel very releived that we were able to finish our work and finally be done with project.
Tonight, was the symposium where each group had to share their progression with this project to the entire class and to the internet. Our group went first and at first, we were sort of nervous. However, after realizing that we are totally capable of completing this presentation, we got motivation and did have the courage to speak publicly to adults and to the rest of the class. I feel like we did a wonderful job on this project because we took initiative to interview certain individuals that were vital to the success of our project. It is also our teamwork that helped us progress, without teamwork, we would be slacking and could have potentially not completed this project. We have come a long way in regards of this project. At first, I did not believe that were capable of completing this project because we were unfamiliar of what each other was capable of. Now, I know that we as a group can do things like this project because of the success that we had tonight. Although Mr. Blake said that we went over the required time, I still think that we used the time necessary to get our message and goal of our project. I am satisfied with our end result and would not have wanted it any other way.
Today, even though we didn't have class, I was spending every spare moment I had working on this project. I am nearly done with our report which is due next week Monday, I completed our Proposal sheet that we will be giving Ms. Collins tomorrow at our meeting, and I am working on a script that we can read off of so that my group and I donʻt make a fool out of ourselves on Friday night. I am also trying to delegate more. Even Mr. Blake told me that I wasn't being assertive enough, so today I asked Julia for Jace's number to tell him and Kea to do the Powerpoint slides. I told him that for this whole project, that was all I was asking him and Kea to do. It is currently 9:30 at night, and still no progress on the slides. It is due tomorrow, but since I am going crazy working on everything else, I am not going to worry about the slides. I just hope our pitch goes well tomorrow.
Today during class, we really worked on our project. Jace was able to contribute a section to the report and I think Kea worked on the class growing systems. I feel like I am still the only one doing anything about this project and I know that graduation is next week, but Jace and Kea canʻt check out yet. There is still so much to do and I need help to finish it all. There are so many assignments, and its not possible for me to do ALL of it by myself at the same time. I have been working so hard on this project, and putting majority of my efforts towards it, and it is causing the grades I have in other classes to drop lower and lower. I have tried delegating to Jace and Kea, but no matter what, they donʻt get it done.
Today although we didnʻt have class, we were still working really hard on our project. We created our flyer so we just have to send it to Aunty Laurie so that she can send it to all the parents. The stress is starting to build up because our presentation is THIS FRIDAY!! Our group is definitely not prepared for it so I really hope my group members help out on what we need to get done. This project is getting really stressful and there is so much left to do. We still need to write our report, make our Powerpoint, create our Proposal to pitch to Ms. Christa Collins, we still have to actually pitch it on Thursday, and write and practice our presentation for Friday.
Today is Sunday and I was able to work on the flyer. Although it may not be the nicest, I think that it is a good start to what we are asking for and what we need help with. Our group will be taking Aunty Laurielei's advice and we will be emailing our flyer to her along with giving it to some teachers. I think that by doing this we can ensure that the parents are getting it and it also gets the teachers involved too. Our group will also be making a separate flyer just to give to the department heads of different subjects, asking for their volunteer and help on some of these Pace Yourself days.
Today we had our interview with Aunty Laurie, the 7-12 Parent Relations Coordinator. Unfortunately, I was the only one that was able to go, but it was really good. We talked about how PAR works, how parents can be a part of PAR, the relationship between Par and ʻAkahi, and even about our solution of making flyers. Aunty Laurie even told us that she would be willing to send out an email to all the parents with our flyer attached. That is so great! Aunty Laurie was very nice and helpful, and said she was willing to help us with anything else we may need. Our project is running more smoothly, so now we just have to create our presentation, and send our flyer to Aunty Laurie. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to open the pictures that Mr. Blake took of us, so here is just a picture of the email confirming our meeting.
Today the entire Malama Honua class got the opportunity to go back to Mokauea Island. I however did not participate in this event and stayed back on campus. However, Lahela got back in touch with Laurielei Waracka so we can get a better insight on our project and the struggle of parent volunteers. She made interview questions for tomorrow and unfortunately this interview will be during a class period that I cannot skip. Lamella recently send an email to the entire group to see if we are available to come with her. Hopefully this interview can go well and that we can get our project back on track.
Today in malama honua we had to turn in our blue slips and barely anyone did. Mr. Blake had a look disappointment on his face but i know where he is coming from because he works hard to get us these learning trips and we don't even go on them. For our project we are coming a long well and trying to figure out a flyer to make so that we an promote students to ask their parents and family if they could help volunteer for pace yourself days. Our team has finally come together and work as a team and making progress so I feel like this project will be good
